Ashland Park - Planned Unit Development
Traverse City, Michigan
Project Description:
Ashland Park, a planned unit development south of Traverse City, is composed of a mix of residential building types, business and retail uses. Traverse Architectural Group created the architectural character theme prevelant throughout the development. The business and retail complex, currently of three separate buildings, is designed in keeping with the atmosphere of the adjoining residential neighborhood. Steep pitched roofs, covered entrances, cupolas, brick and horizontal siding, are all similar elements in the development. Each building is designed to accommodate at least four tenant spaces per floor. In some instances, the sloping site was used to provide entry access to the buildings on both sides creating a nice mixture of one and two story structures. Adjacent parking at both “fronts” of the building provide ease of access. All buildings are connected to each other by accessible walks and ramps. Future phases of the commercial development will use the same architectural design and pattern to unify this appealling complex of buildings.
